Biography

"An improvisational chordant deluge of visionary insight into the very fiber of a girl's existence"

Living Jane is to be found in the theatre, on the airwaves, on the television and in real life. She may even be right behind you right now. So watch this space. And keep looking over your shoulder...

Living Jane began singing as soon as she exited her mother's womb, aged 0. Since then she has accomplished many wonderful things. Singing was in her blood from both sides of the family. Her Grandmother sang for the Czar of Russia at the age of 16, and her Grandfather on her mother's side played standup bass.

Her desire to be on stage began when she was only 6 years old. Her 9-year-old brother was performing in a Christmas Pageant, and she snuck onstage to the delight of the packed auditorium, and wanted to sing along.... She stole the show and everyone's hearts for the duration of the concert.

The most significant development of her musical career was the introduction to experimental music in 1992. Seven years into these studio sessions, “Living Jane" was born, from her ability to mimic a high tech tape recorder named "Jane", and use her voice like an instrument.

Most of the music at this site comes from this experimental live improv created from 1999 to 2003.
